Coldshot Bar, Appleton - 2/12; Suhmers Saloon, Eagle - 2/13; David "Honeyboy" Edwards Grammy Award
Feb 8, 2010

On Friday, Hounds Tooth travels up to Appleton to the Coldshot Bar - a great music room.  The show starts at 9 pm.  Then on Saturday we return to Suhmer's Saloon in the heart of Eagle.  Last time out we rocked Suhmers and look forward to another crazy night of rockin' blues - the gig kicks off at 9:30 pm.

Check out our photos last weekend from Piano Blu - we had the people out dancing.  We also had a great time at the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua - Dane and his crew always take good care of us.

We are busy booking events for blues societies and festivals this summer.  Stay tuned as we continue to fill out our schedule of venues and festivals around the Midwest.

Congratulations to David "Honeyboy" Edwards who received the lifetime achievement at the 2010 Grammy Awards the other week.  Hounds Tooth Frontman Jared James Nichols has played with Honeyboy at the Paramount Blues Festival and appeared with him in the FrontRowTV Documentary - Six Generations of Blues.

Feb 1, 2010

Hounds Tooth returns to one of Lake Country's classiest venues, Piano Blu, on Friday, February 5th.  The music starts at 9 pm and don't be surprised to see the dining tables pushed back for dancers later in the evening.

Then Saturday night we head back to the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua for a wild night of Soul Rockin' Blues.  We look forward to seeing everyone back up north.

"You guys were the best band we have had here!" - Rob - Rhythm n' Brew's Soundman.  We had a great time playing at Rhythm n' Brews in Saukville and appreciate the compliments of Rob and everyone who came out - including a nice contingent from the Grafton Blues Association.  We look forward to returning to Rhythm n' Brews in the spring and the next Grafton Blues Association Meeting will be held February 10th at this great live music venue.  Last Saturday we played for a dancing crowd at the Harmony Bar in Madison.  We had a great time we will be back later in 2010.

Jan 25, 2010

Friday night we are at the new Rhythm n' Brews in Saukville for an early 8 pm to 11 pm show.  There is no cover and some great food, drinks, and entertainment.  So come on out to the newest nightlife spot in Ozaukee County for some Soul Rockin' Blues.

Saturday we are at the Harmony Bar & Grill in Madison.  This is the top blues venue in the state bringing in the best local and regional talent along with the occasional national act.  The show kicks off at 9:45 pm.

Jared had a great performance representing the Grafton Blues Association at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis last week.  He turned enough heads that after the Youth Showcase he was invited to perform that night at BB King's club on Beale Street.  Kudos also to Steve Cohen who advanced to the finals in the Solo/Duo category.  A good showing for the Grafton Blues Association.

New tunes have been uploaded to our site.  Look for some more in the coming weeks.

Jared at International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase; Weekend Recap
Jan 18, 2010

This week Hounds Tooth frontman Jared James Nichols will be at the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis, TN.  Jared's trio consisting of Jared, Andrew Koennig (bass), and Dylan Koch (drums) is being sponsored by the Grafton Blues Association (GBA).  The GBA is also sending Michael Ammons and Waterstreet Hotshots as a band and Steve Cohen in the solo/duo category.  Good luck to Jared and all the GBA representatives.

Last weekend we had a great time on the road.  On Friday night we played for the Blowtorch Blues Society's 3rd Friday Blues Series.  Special guests Steve "The Harp" and 14 year-old guitarist Matt Curry joined us on-stage as special guests.  There was a great turnout and we had wonderful time meeting and hanging out with everyone from the Blowtorch Blues Society.  We also met local blues DJ - Delta Frank the "Blues Doctor," who you can hear on WGLT on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Photos are up from this event.

Saturday night we were at 180 Main in Dubuque and again the venue was packed with a young, enthusiastic crowd that was digging the sounds of Hounds Tooth and the rippin' fretwork of Jared Nichols.  Special guest Betty of Betty and The Headlights joined us on-stage for a few tunes.

Hounds Tooth is busy working on booking our summer blues festival schedule and already has commitments from 5 blues festivals in the Midwest - we are excited about our upcoming summer and the opportunity to play at some of the top blues rooms and festivals in our region.

On Saturday we return to 180 Main in Dubuque, IA.  Look for the upcoming interview with Hounds Tooth guitarist/vocalist Jared Nichols that will run in Telegraph Herald this week. 180 Main is both the first home for the rebirth of Nightlife on Old Main and now the newest at the same time. Already the home of live music is the Tri-State area, the opening of the 180 Pub & Restaurant now makes the hot spot a great choice for lunch and dinner! 180 Main has featured some of the top national artists including Delta Groove artist Jason Ricci and New Blood.  The music kicks off at 9 pm.

A great time this past weekend at the Up & Under and Hawg Heaven.  Special guests Queen Nadine and Misha were a hit at Hawg Heaven - which was packed.  Also, national bluesman Michael Coleman made a surprise appearance at Hawg Heaven and gave us some funked-up blues.

This Friday we return to one of the best and most historic live music venues in Milwaukee - the Up & Under Pub on Brady Street.  The Up & Under has a long history of bringing in top local blues bands and used to bring up some of the top national blues acts from Chicago.  Music starts at 9:30 pm and we will be tearing down the house.

On Saturday we return to Hawg Heaven in Salem.  This newly remodeled biker friendly bar feature great live music every Saturday, no cover charge, great drinks, popcorn, and pizza.  Queen Nadine will be joining us as a guest vocalist on Saturday.
