WAMI Nominee for Best Blues Band 2009
Voted Best Blues Band in the Shepherd Express' Best of Milwaukee 2006
“The musicians break from the mold of the wearisome blues house band…these guys play soul as well as blues.” - Nathanial Miller, MKE Magazine.
“Great set at the (Slippery) Noodle, I hope you guys make it back soon. We are there almost every Saturday night. You are one of the best bands we’ve seen in a long time.” – Terry J., Slippery Noodle Inn Patron
Jamie, a Native American from the Lac Courte Oreilles band of the Objibwe Tribe, has been garnering accolades since her debut in February of 2007. She was voted Best Female Vocalist in the Shepherd Express' Best of 2007 voting. She has also studied voice at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Jamie brings a powerful and passionate voice to Hounds Tooth that can stir the emotions and soothe the soul. Jamie has performed with Chick Singer Night, America's longest-running singer showcase and has sang the national anthem at the Milwaukee Brewers game. In 2009 she was a featured artist (along with Hounds Tooth) at the Madison Blues Society's Wild Women of the Blues showcase.
"Sultry, soulful and powerful, Jamie Brace of the band Hounds Tooth prowls the stage night after night, pushing her voice to the limit. Never known for holding back, Brace takes covers by legends such as Janis Joplin and Freddie King and makes them her own. The band also has a repertoire of original material that lets her define her own style. The blues may be the cornerstone of Brace's music, but her obvious reverence for straight-ahead rock takes it to a higher level, especially in live performance." - Brian Barney, Shepherd Express
Ask her about her nickname Chihuahua.
JD is definitely the gearhead and tonefreak of the group, his bandmates often joke that he is "in the zone" when setting up the PA before shows (and at other times). JD has adopted one of the Dr. Z credos, "life is too short for bad tone." Currently you will find JD playing his Lentz DL90 Goldtop or Lentz SSL through one his Dr. Z amps. Sometimes with pedals in front and sometimes with just the guitar, cord, and amp.
Outside of the band, JD spends time raising his 3 kids and cooking and cleaning for the wife. You can also catch him early in the morning putting in miles for an upcoming marathon.

Chris then traveled throughout Europe playing harmonica on the streets of the Old World and landed an opportunity to play on an album in Denmark. Most recently he played bass and recorded with a local Milwaukee pop singer.

Jeff Oscarson, drums, was born in Kenosha, WI and has been playing drums since the age of 12. His powerful and funky beats are the backbone of Hounds Tooth’s Soul Rockin' Blues sound. Jeff’s diverse drumming influences include John Bonham, Chris Layton, Chad Smith, and Brad Wilk. Prior to joining Hounds Tooth, Jeff played in 94 South, Fat Camp, and The Buzzards.
Jeff lays down the groove on a Tama Starclassic Maple Kit with a Tama 6.5” brass snare and Classic A Zildjian Series cymbals.
